Maddi has been riding for over 30 years, during which time she has trained with some of the world's finest trainers, including her long standing coach Carl Hester, who she has been coached by for over 20 years!
Maddi has dedicated much of her life to learning the art of classical dressage, and has studied under the guidance of Classical Master and Director of Training, Joaquin Vazquez Vela and other riders at the Royal School of Equestrian Art in Jerez, Spain. Maddi worked for Joaquin in Spain at his private yard. There, as well as coaching, she rode, trained and competed a number of his and his clients horses up to Grand Prix level. Maddi now coaches alongside Joaquin when he Clinics in the UK.
Maddi has also spent time learning from Dr Gerd Heuschmann, Manolo Mendez and the late Dr Kerry Ridgeway, which have been a huge influence in her understanding of equine physiology, biomechanics and psychological well being. This has enabled her to not only successfully train horses and keep sound, happy athletes, but has also allowed her to specialise in rehab work and corrective schooling.
